One of the upcoming handsets scheduled by Sprint is the Kyocera DuraMax clamshell, which will be available for purchase in Q4 for a price that will be announced in due time. Although the Kyocera DuraMax has been tagged as a rugged handset, it features a stylish design and offers users the latest push-to-talk (PTT) services.
It appears that the clamshell has been especially designed to meet military specification 810G for dust, shock, vibration, temperature extremes, blowing rain, and immersion up to 30 minutes in up to 1m (3.28ft) of water. Kyocera DuraMax measures 101.5 x 53.5 x 25.5mm and weighs 144g (battery included). Furthermore, the phone is encased in a non-slip rubber material called Dura-Grip, and comes with a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper.
In addition, the clamshell features a secondary 1-inch monochrome display on the outside, as well as a slightly larger 2-inch QVGA screen with 240 x 320 pixels resolution.
