The BlackBerry Torch 9860 has been announced today by RIM, swiftly followed by confirmation that Vodafone will be stocking the BlackBerry 7 OS device. The operator has marked the occasion by releasing a brief hands-on video. Check it out. The BlackBerry Torch 9860 will be a potent touch-only device with a 3.7-inch touchscreen, powered by a 1.2GHz processor. This looks likely to be the same CPU as can be found in the forthcoming BlackBerry Bold 9900. It’ll also come with a 5-megapixel camera with “zero-shutter lag”, and you’ll be able to keep all your photos, apps and music on its 8GB of internal storage.
BlackBerry Torch 9860 Smartphone specifications :
RIM’s BlackBerry Torch 9860 will come with the brand new BlackBerry 7 OS pre-installed. This includes heavy optimisation for touch-based devices – something not always associated with previous qwerty-centric BlackBerry devices. One of the biggest enhancements of the OS is something RIM’s referring to as ‘Liquid Graphics’. This means that almost every visual element – from animations to icons and beyond – makes use of hardware acceleration to boost responsiveness and visual fidelity. That’s perhaps the main reason behind the massive hike in processing power for the BlackBerry range.
